Bra Fitting & Measuring

Did you know that around 80% of women are estimated to wear the wrong bra size? Most often, the band is too loose, and the cup size is too small. The result? Insufficient support, an unflattering silhouette, and even the risk of long-term physical health issues.

The right bra, however, can be life-changing. It provides proper support, enhances your natural curves, and transforms your figure, posture, and confidence. With the correct fit, you’ll not only look great but feel great too.

Even if you’ve had a fitting before, it’s important to revisit regularly—ideally every six months. Changes in weight, age, and lifestyle can significantly impact your bust, meaning your bra size may fluctuate more than you realize.

Fit Guide

Step 1: Prepare for the Fitting

Start by wearing your best-fitting bra, preferably one without too much padding or push-up. This will give you a more accurate measurement. Adjust the straps of your current bra for some lift, which will help with a more precise fit during the measuring process.

Step 2: Measure Your Band Size

Use a measuring tape to measure the width of your ribcage directly under your bust. Ensure the tape is even in the back and front for an accurate reading. If your measurement falls in between sizes, round up to the nearest inch (e.g., if you measure 37 inches, round up to 38 inches). The band should feel snug but not tight—this snugness is crucial as it provides the majority of your support, rather than the straps. Keep this measurement as it will be used for your band size.

Step 3: Measure Your Cup Size

Measure around your body, over the fullest part of your bust. This second measurement will be larger than the first. The difference between the two measurements determines your cup size:

  • For every inch of difference, you increase by one cup size. Generally, 1 inch = A cup, 2 inches = B cup, 3 inches = C cup, and so on.

  • Important: Some brands use different sizing systems, especially for cups like DD or FF. These are not half-sizes but rather a full cup size up from the standard (e.g., 1 inch = A, 2 inches = B, 3 inches = C, 4 inches = D, 5 inches = DD, 6 inches = E, etc.).

Example: If your first measurement is 19 inches and the second is 25 inches, the difference is 6 inches, so based on this system, you would start with an E cup.

Step 4: Try on Your Bra and Check the Fit

Band fit: The band should be snug but not uncomfortable. Ensure it feels firm around your ribcage without riding up at the back.

Cup fit: Make sure your breast is fully encased in the cup without spilling over. If there’s overflow, you may need to size up.

Underwire placement: Ensure the underwire sits comfortably against your ribcage. If it’s too far forward, you might need a larger cup size. If it's digging into your armpit, you may need a smaller size or a different style.

Step 5: Final Adjustments

Lean forward: While wearing the bra, lean forward and gently pull your breast tissue forward into the cups, ensuring all the tissue is properly supported.

Adjust straps: After positioning your breast tissue, snug the straps for a secure fit.

Check the center: The center of the bra should sit flat against your chest, between your breasts, with no gaps.

Comfort check: When you sit down, make sure the band and straps are still comfortable and not digging.

Keep in mind that measurements can vary significantly across different brands and styles. That's why we recommend coming in for a professional fitting — we're focused on achieving the perfect fit, not just a number. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us!
